We invite you to register for the online course “Training in Targeted Biomarkers, Part I: PD-L1 in Upper Gastrointestinal Tumors,” which aims to promote practical knowledge of PD-L1 testing. This interactive course is entirely online and includes both pre-recorded lectures and interactive case seminars using a digital microscope.
The course is organized by Pathology Science in collaboration with Bristol Myers Squibb and is intended for professionals working with predictive markers in upper gastrointestinal tumors who are based in Sweden.
The course is free of charge.

Speakers
Dr. Björn Magnusson
Clinical pathologist at Skåne University Hospital, Lund, with special expertise in gastrointestinal pathology. Dr. Magnusson is a certified PD-L1 instructor and serves as both course leader and examiner for this training program.
Prof. Anja Roden
Senior Physician and Professor of Clinical Pathology at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, USA). Prof. Roden has extensive experience in biomarkers and lung pathology. She is the author of several scientific articles on PD-L1 testing.
Target Audience
The course is intended for specialists in clinical pathology who analyze PD-L1 expression in upper gastrointestinal cancers. Number of participants: max 15.
Registration and Fee
Registration is open until December 4, 2022, or until the course is full. The course is free of charge.
Course Format
The course is held online on a dedicated learning platform, featuring pre-recorded lectures and a live workshop on Zoom. You can watch the pre-recorded lectures at your convenience, but please allow at least 90 minutes for this. All patient cases to be used during the workshop are available on the learning platform and can be examined using the built-in digital microscope. You should have watched all the lectures before the workshop begins, and we also recommend that you familiarize yourself thoroughly with the cases. Be prepared to discuss the cases with your classmates. Both the lectures and the cases will remain available for review for some time after the course date.
Technical Requirements
The course’s learning platform can be accessed on any device: Windows, Mac, and even mobile devices. You do not need to install any software to view the lectures or examine the cases using the digital microscope. It is important that you have a stable internet connection and access to a microphone and headphones during the workshop. If you’re participating in the workshop from your workplace, make sure the hospital’s firewall doesn’t interfere with your Zoom connection. For best results, we recommend calibrating your screen for accurate color reproduction.
Exam
The course concludes with a test on the learning platform. A passing score on the test is required to receive a certificate.
