Terms of service

Please read these terms of use ("terms") carefully before accessing or participating in any educational activities or online forums provided by Pathology Science OÜ through its sites ("site" or "sites"). By using and participating in these sites, you signify that you have read these terms and agree to be bound by and comply with them. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms, please promptly exit all sites. Pathology Science OÜ reserves the right to modify these terms at any time and will publish notice of any such modifications online at the concerned site.

1. If you are using a personalised service, then your account and course subscription are for your personal use. You cannot lend your login details out to third persons. Your course certification is tied to your account. If we detect any suspicious activity in your account that could mean that third persons are using your account, you may get suspended from the system and your course certificate may be revoked. No fraud well be tolerated.

2. Privacy statement

Please read our privacy policy. Note, particularly, that no material uploaded anywhere on our sites may include information that violates patient data integrity. All cases need to be cleaned from identifiable personal information.

3. Copyright

The contents of this course are subject to copyright laws. You are not allowed to download or copy the digital images in the course (neither case images nor lecture videos), unless specifically instructed to do so by the Educator. Unauthorised use of any course material is not allowed. Educators hold copyrights to the material and should be contacted directly in case you need to negotiate the rights of use.

Copyrighted material produced by others, including but not limited to software, graphics, text, photographs, sound, and video, may not be posted on our Site without the express permission of the owner of the copyright, or other legal entitlement to use the material. Uploader is responsible for securing that they have the right to publish it. Pathology Science OÜ has the right to remove any such material from the Sites, block access, or take other action with respect to illegally posted copyrighted material in its sole discretion, although we are under no obligation to do so. If you spot any illegal copyrighted material, please inform us through the Contact form.

4. Duties of each party

Pathology Science OÜ offers a platform for continued medical education. We follow all the legal regulations for education in Estonia and the European Union. These guarantee that the financial steering of education is separate from pedagogical steering and quality control. Therefore, the Educators have full freedom of expression and professional autonomy. The Educators have the sole responsibility for the contents of their teaching material. Pathology Science OÜ does not interfere with the utterances of the Educators, unless they violate any applicable local, national or international law or regulation, ethical guidelines or best practice of evidence-based medicine.  

Attendees are welcome to voice their opinions to the measure they do not violate the code of conduct or valid laws and regulations. However, no user content posted by the Attendees during the course is screened, approved, reviewed or endorsed by Pathology Science OÜ and is the sole responsibility of the Attendee. Attendees are responsible for their utterances.

Our Sites engage in training and education. They should not be used for obtaining a second opinion. No viewpoints given by our Educators during the seminars can be taken as a ground for a legally binding second opinion. Attendees are legally responsible for the diagnosis reached as a result of learning activities and discussions on our Sites. If you need legally binding authorised second opinion, you should explicitly request this through our Consultation service. Pathology Science OÜ is not responsible for any possible misdiagnosis that results from using information on our Sites. 

5. Rules for Online Conduct

By using our Sites you agree that you commit to making them an inclusive and safe environment to all Attendees. You also commit to the following:

  • Not posting content that defames or threatens others as well as not posting harassing statements or content or material that contains obscene (i.e. pornographic) language or images; Be civil and respectful at all times;

  • Not engaging in illegal conduct that violates Estonian national or European laws and regulations, nor posting content that discusses illegal activities with the intent to commit them;

  • Not to engage in advertising or any form of commercial solicitation. Sponsors’ contributions are acknowledged in accordance to the MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice, relevant national and European Union legislation as well as individual contracts with the sponsors; however, as a rule, all activities that can be interpreted as an attempt to unduly influence healthcare professionals’ choice of products are not permitted by Educators, Attendees, Sponsors or Pathology Science OÜ;

  • Not to engage in activities that infringe other's intellectual property (See point 3 above);

  • Not taking screenshots of other Attendees or recording meetings without their explicit consent, and not using our Sites for collecting personal information or data mining.

If You violate this Code of Conduct, we reserve the right to remove you and any of your Content from our Sites. Whether conduct violates our Code of Conduct will be determined in Pathology Science OÜ’s sole discretion.

5. Note on quality assurance.

Pathology Science OÜ does not interfere with the professional autonomy of its Educators but makes sure that all its Educators have high professional level and good track-record in scientific evidence-based medicine. The courses offered by Pathology Science OÜ fully comply with all Estonian quality requirements for Continued Education as well as European Union guidelines for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), as defined by European Union of Medical Specialists. This applies even to courses that are not accredited by the European Accreditation Council for CME (EACCME®). When courses are offered in collaboration with industry sponsors, we comply with MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice for educational grants.

You agree that Pathology Science OÜ will not be liable to you for any loss or damages, either actual or consequential, arising out of or relating to these terms, or to your (or any third party's) use or inability to use a site, or to your placement of content on a site, or to your reliance upon information obtained from or through a site. In particular, Pathology Science  OÜ will have no liability for any consequential, indirect, punitive, special or incidental damages, whether foreseeable or unforeseeable, (including, but not limited to, claims for defamation, errors, loss of data, or interruption in availability of data), arising out of or relating to these terms, your use or inability to use a site, or your placement of content on a site, or to your reliance upon information obtained from or through a site, except only in the case of death or personal injury where and only to the extent that applicable law requires such liability.
